Why The Glastonbury Bag?
Following Gillian Booth’s showing of the film Message in the Waves within Glastonbury, Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce, Transition Town Glastonbury, Eco-Friendly Shop & some businesses and organisations in town got together to reduce the use of plastic carrier bags in the town. 

The Glastonbury Bag initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact of plastic bags.  It will also develop the town’s image as a “green” shopping destination and provide the opportunity to raise Glastonbury’s profile, both locally and nationally.  Modbury, the first UK town to go ‘plastic bag free’ has had its profile increased dramatically as a result.  More info at www.plasticbagfree.com
